For the first weekend of the semester, student leaders were invited to the first-ever Student Leadership Conference. This event was led by Kathryn Henry, Samantha Sterner, and Kyle Nelson, with help from the new Student Leadership and Connections office. It was a program where student leaders from different clubs were taught the key factors of how to run a club. Some of the sessions of this event included working on a budget for a club (Presented by Sean Alvord), programming events for their respective clubs (Presented by Samantha Sterner), and how to advertise them around campus and create branding for the club on campus (Presented by Kyle Zemba and Julia Hart).
Student Leaders who are Seniors this semester had sessions on how to create a legacy for the clubs and prepare the new leaders who are going to run the clubs once the seniors leave (Presented by Courtney Colaccio, Dominic Buccitti, and Rylee Plourde). The students that were new to the positions or to an E-Board for the first time had sessions where they could build leadership skills or create a legacy (Presented by Kathryn Henry and Emily Wambach). The general members of their clubs also attended and had a session where they could support their E-Board members (Presented by Anne Seibel). When the students first came in, they were given a schedule of where they would have to go for their sessions and their very own notebook to take some notes to bring back good information to help their clubs grow. Students were also given the opportunity to get their headshots taken so they could use them for their personal use. Students were allowed to ask questions to the presenters so that they could gain more of an understanding of what it takes to be a student leader.
Students who attended this conference have gained information on how to make their club the best it can be.
