Every year, The Review of Art and Literature celebrates the release of their art and literary magazine with a huge party, and this year was no exception. Earlier today on Deliso Lawn, The Review hosted their release party with giveaways, music from WNEK, cuddles from Bear the Comfort Dog, and free food. This event was one students did not want to miss.

The Review’s release party is an annual event hosted by The Review of Art and Literature that promotes the release of their newest magazine.

“It’s meant to bring the artistic community together and celebrate art!” Said Samantha Blau, The Review’s publicity coordinator.

This year, The Review had spared no expense to make sure this year’s release party was fun for all who attended.

“We will have… [free food], giveaways, music courtesy of WNEK, and a special appearance from Bear the Comfort Dog! We will also be giving away copies of last year’s edition and spreading the word about The Review,” Blau said.

The release party is not only an event to promote the release of the newest edition of The Review but also a way to promote and appreciate art across campus.

“…everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the party and our general meetings on Wednesday nights in Herman 108 from 5:30pm-6:30pm. The Review is meant to be a collaborative space for all artists to create and appreciate different forms of art. A lot of people don’t know that being published in The Review is a great achievement that can be included on their resumes and shared with their friends and family,” Blau said.

Although the main focus of the release party was to share the newest edition of The Review with the campus community, the party also acted as a way to promote the club.

“We definitely want to promote The Review’s presence on campus. With so many awesome clubs on campus, we want to make sure that people know about us! We also want to promote artistic expression in general since it can be such an important part of self-expression and fulfillment,” Blau said.

Members of the Western New England University community who missed out on contributing to last year’s edition are encouraged to collaborate with The Review on this year’s edition and get involved, whether that be through submitting work or editing the book.

“Students can submit their artwork, photography, and writing through our email [email protected] or through the Google Form in our Instagram bio @wnereview! If they want to work on this year’s edition, everyone is welcome at our general meetings on Wednesdays at 5:30 in Herman 108,” Blau said.

If you missed out on this amazing event, make sure to stop by The Review of Art and Literature’s general meetings to get involved with one of the most creative clubs on campus!
