“Have you been feeling stressed lately?” With finals week approaching our University, it’s unsurprising to hear students answer yes to this question. Luckily, the Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be hosting an event to ease that stress.

Stress Relief, CAB’s annual end-of-semester event, has returned and will take place on December 8, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Campus Center. Planned by Courtney Farrell, travel chair of CAB, she and the rest of the club have set up a large variety of giveaways and activities for the event, ensuring that any student who goes finds something they can use to destress.

The theme for this year’s event is “De-Stress for the Holidays,” so, as expected, holiday-themed activities and food will be available. There will be a gingerbread house-making station at the event, and WNEK will be playing holiday music. On top of that, the event will also have cookies from Hot Oven Cookies, and hot chocolate will be provided in a hot chocolate bar format with the option to add whipped cream and candy canes included.

Stress Relief will be more than just a holiday event, though, as it will still have the typical activities and giveaways available in past versions. The event will be giving away air plants and a variety of face masks. It will also have its usual Stuff-A-Critter station along with a make-your-own fleece throw pillow station. Lastly, this semester’s version of the event will not only bring back the use of massage therapists but will increase the total number of them at the event to 10.

For all students on this campus who are feeling the stress of finals week setting in on them, Stress Relief is the event that could cure it. Even if you can’t stick around for the whole event, CAB will have raffle baskets available for students to enter for the chance to win and keep the destressing process continued at a later date. So, for those dealing with stress and who are free Friday night, definitely go check this event out!
