Super Bowl Predictions

Who will win this year’s coveted Lombardi trophy? That’s tough to say when we look at the National Football League this season. There are at least five teams that all have a case, and even then, there are a lot of teams that are also right there in the mix.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been the on-record best team this season. With just one loss to the New York Jets, the Eagles have been week in and week out, making the winning plays necessary to come out on top. Whether or not they’ll be able to perform come playoff time is the question everyone is asking. However, Jalen Hurts has led his Eagles team to continuous dominance in hopes of winning it all. Jack Waterman, a junior at Bentley University, spoke on why he thinks the Eagles are the best team in the NFL. “The Eagles are the best team in the league and have an offense that can’t be stopped in fourth down situations. They have also this season shown their resilience as a team.”

The Kansas City Chiefs are in the conversation once again. With Patrick Mahomes as quarterback, they will always be in the mix. The Chiefs are at the top of the AFC with the Ravens, Dolphins, and Jaguars. Travis Kelce has been in the news all season long for more reasons than just football. But when it comes to the on-field play, Kelce continues to be the top tight end in the game and Mahomes’s primary target on offense. But they aren’t the only offense that NFL fans talk about.

Perhaps the most surprising team this season has been the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence and the Jags have been winning and winning. The one thing that this team has done well is the speed with which they play the game. They attack opposing defenses in both the run game and passing game. This is a young team that’s hungry and motivated to get to the final game.

The San Francisco 49ers are looking to return to the NFC championship game and finally get the chance at the Lombardi. Losing to the Eagles in the big NFC game last season was a crusher for them, but they look even more determined not to let that happen again. Having already one of the top defenses in the league, their offense has weapons all across the line. From the likes of Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and more, they are poised to win. Matthew Futtner, a full-time worker for South Windsor public schools in Connecticut, believes that the 49ers have been so good that they’re the ones to beat. “Their defense is elite, and their offense has been at the top of the league, they have the talent to win the Super Bowl if they can stay healthy.”

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are always at the top of the fan’s conversations. Despite all that, Dak Prescott has been putting up MVP-type numbers, and they are neck and neck with the 49ers right behind the Philadelphia Eagles for the top seed in the NFC. The Dallas defense has been dominant and could even be argued as the most consistent defense in the league. Mixing in the strength of the defense with the play of Prescott and the offense, this is a threat to win it all. The main question with the Cowboys, however, is if they can get it done and prove their doubters wrong.

Just like Dak, Lamar Jackson has been giving the Baltimore Ravens a chance to win in every game, and they’re doing just that. Although the Ravens are not as talked about as the others, they have been getting more traction as of late and are no doubt a threat to win the Super Bowl. They, too, have a defense that always helps them win games, but their offense is doing more than enough to help win games. That is exactly what Lamar Jackson does; he silences the doubters and continues to play football in his style.

The Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins are also two teams to monitor closely, and both have had impressive seasons and remain at the top of their respective conferences. Both the teams are offensive-heavy, but they can both hang with anyone in the league.

Who will win this year’s trophy? Time will tell. But one thing is for sure: this could be one of the most chaotic postseasons in NFL history.
