The next few weeks at Western New England University will be filled with many events to close out the year. Some are smaller-scale, while others are far larger and staples of the University’s event roster. So, without further ado, let’s get into the events happening across campus.

The first event is Commuter Appreciation Day. Held by the Commuter Council, this annual event will be hosted on Thursday, April 18 from 12:30 p.m. – 2 p.m. This event will have food, and it serves as an excellent place for commuters (and all of campus) to hang out and have fun. It will run during the common hour.

The next event is the second Meditation Garden gathering, held as part of Professor Heather Salazar’s philosophy classes. This event is a fun way to chill out, paint some rocks, and have a great time. This event will run from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19. This event was held last fall, too, so it seems it will be a semesterly occurrence.

The third event is a newer annual occurrence, the Kodiak Music Festival (KMF). KMF is an event held from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. on April 20 this year where local bands will perform. If you’re looking for new and smaller artists to add to your playlists, or you just want to listen to live music while you see what the clubs stationed at the event have to offer, then this is the event for you!

The fourth upcoming event is arguably the biggest on this list. This is Spring Event, an annual tradition. This year, the X Ambassadors and Bryce Vine will perform. It will be held in the Anthony S. Caprio Alumni Healthful Living Center on April 26 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. If you want to know more, check out the Spring Event Instagram page, @wnespringevent, or look for the fliers posted throughout campus.

Lastly, there’s the BOLD Media Festival. Held on April 27 this year, this is an event where the five media clubs on campus (WNEK, GBTV, The Westerner, The Cupola Yearbook, and The Review of Art and Literature) host an awards ceremony from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on the fourth floor of the University Commons. Later, after the awards ceremony, an after-party gala will be held in Rivers Memorial Hall from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Overall, if you’re looking for an event to attend, be on the lookout for these! All events are designed to bring the Western New England community together, and all students are welcome.
