“Bathed In Light”

Let There Be Light //Image: Rebekah Sherman

Bathed in light,

Oh, what a glorious delight,

To behold the splendor

 Of God’s creation!

Pine trees, so strong

And grown upright,

Stand silently

Next to their Cedar friends.

While blooming here and there,

 The blossoming Cherry tree,

Extends its shade and sweet fragrance

To those who linger near.

“Come and see,” they beckon to me,

As their majesty fulfills the desires of my heart.

Tall and free, they remind me

That they were there from Winter’s start.

Each day is wrapped in changing light,

From dawn to dusk and throughout the night;

With stars and moon to comfort you

Until the sun slumbers none.

The day’s light is slowly fading past,

With dazzling golden colors that won’t last.

Will you take a few minutes to stay,

And delight in the colors on display?

The blue sky is covered with clouds gently blowing away,

While accompanied on the horizon by purples, yellows, greens, and pinks.

The gentle colors are like friends that smile and wink

At all who gaze ahead.

Fulfilling and more valuable than jewels and gold,

The joy I’ve found will never erode.
