The Last Rays of Sunlight

1 min read

Watching light slowly fade,

As subtle colors of pinks and

Blues are on display,

I know that summer will not stay.

The golden rays adorn the oak,

Maple and pine trees,

And I remember how I used to

Swallow the urge to cry

When August’s days had ended.

Today, I smile instead because I

Know that with the fall comes a

Different kind of glow.

The light of candles will shine in

Jack-o-Lanterns, while the shades of

Green on the tree branches will

Transform splendidly like the

Sunset I watch today.

With comforting thoughts of the

Joyful times of fall, I can enjoy the

Last rays of summer’s light.
