Fall in New England, there is nothing quite like it. The humid summer ends, and well-rested students everywhere get ready for a new chapter as an anxious buzz fills schools throughout the country. The weather is near perfect, characterized by warm days with a refreshing breeze. The nights are long and cold but can be savored by a nice warm fire. “Fall is the best season because of low humidity,” stated classmate Liam Wallace, “you can be outside. The sun is out but not overwhelming,” Wallace continued.
Weather is not the only great element of fall. Many say that fall in New England is very appealing to all the senses. The colorful sights and appealing smells of this time of year are pleasing. “Leaves start changing, [it is] very nice to look at.” said Wallace. “It has its own distinct smell. The sun goes down earlier and earlier.” For a stretch of about two months here in New England, everything seems perfect. The leaves turn a comforting yellow and orange, which makes any routine drive an exciting one. Corn mazes and apple farms are in full operation, and there is an abundance of other exciting fall activities. Anticipation of favorite holidays such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas fills the air. The atmosphere of fall in New England will put anyone in a good mood.
