Fall. Autumn. The season when we see the leaves fall and have pumpkin spice lattes in hand. The season all New Englanders can’t wait to see; the colors of the leaves change as they try not to think of the dreadful winter that arises. New England’s fall is irreplaceable and simply cannot be compared to anything else. There is nothing better to this season than the perfect temperature and alongside the personal favorite of all locals: family season.
For a Junior at Western New England University, Ben Eskin anticipates this time of year. The Tolland, Connecticut, local chose Western New England University due to it being a home away from home, with this, not being able to run away from the season.
“The season reminds me of spending time with family and how we always get together during this time.”
Ben further discusses his reminisces of family memories during this season. He shares childhood memories of going to Pennsylvania to get all his family together in one room and ultimately enjoying one another’s company.
Although Ben loves this time of gathering, he said, “I dread the shorter days, I wish I could play golf like I did during the summer.”
He shares this because he loves being outdoors, but with colder temperatures, he cannot have the same routine that he enjoys.
Although the transition from warm to cold seasons is not easy, with the smells of pumpkin and the taste of apple cider, Eskin and the rest of New England will always look forward to this unique time of year.
