There are various pizza restaurants in Springfield, Massachusetts, and sometimes, it may be difficult to decide which one suits your fancy. If you are stuck trying to decide which pizza restaurant to go to on a Friday night, you might want to check out Husky Pizza in Indian Orchard. In my opinion, I rate Husky Pizza a nine out of ten based on the restaurant’s food quality and proximity to Western New England University.

Husky Pizza is located at 565 Main St, Indian Orchard, Springfield. The pizza restaurant is approximately four miles away from Western New England University and is a ten-to-fifteen-minute drive, depending on traffic. Husky Pizza is located near the Ludlow Bridge, which crosses over the Chicopee River, in the same shopping complex as The Nail Place and Crossroads Convenience Store and Creamery. There is a small parking lot available on one side of the complex. In my experience, there was usually an available parking spot in the lot, but if not, there was available parking space on the side street, Enfield St., next to the complex. Pulling in and out of the parking lot may be mildly difficult if there is traffic.

Husky Pizza has dine-in, pickup, and delivery options. Husky Pizza is closed on Mondays. For delivery options, Husky Pizza is open during the week from 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM on Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday and is open on Friday and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM. For pickup options, Husky Pizza is open Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM and is open on Friday and Saturday from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM.

Husky Pizza’s pizzas come in four different sizes: small, medium, large, and party size. Husky Pizza’s Small pizzas are twelve-inch pizzas that are cut into eight triangle slices. The dough is usually thicker for small pizzas, and if you or a friend would like to share a pizza, then I would advise ordering a small pizza. If you want slightly larger slices, try ordering a medium pizza, which is also cut into eight triangle slices and is a fourteen-inch pizza. If you and a group of friends or family members want to share a pizza, try ordering a large pizza. The large pizza comes with twelve thinly cut triangle slices and is a sixteen-inch pizza. The party size pizza is a twenty-four-inch pizza and comes with twenty-four square-cut slices. party size pizzas are great for events and parties. I would rate Husky Pizza a ten out of ten for their multiple pizza size options, which includes the rare size of a medium pizza.

Overall, Husky Pizza’s pizzas are a delicious delight for everyone after a week’s worth of studying and work. Personally, I have enjoyed picking up a couple of Husky Pizza’s pizza boxes on Friday evenings after taking a lovely walk at the Ludlow Riverwalk. In general, Husky Pizza’s pizza crust is crunchy and golden, and the dough is a little thicker than other pizza restaurants nearby, but I found that the thicker dough is quite tasty. The red sauce is a standard pizza sauce that tastes good, and the conventional mozzarella cheese is also flavorful. Husky Pizza’s classic cheese Pizza is a great traditional choice for someone with a picky tongue, and I would rate Husky’s cheese Pizza an eight out of ten. I would suggest trying Husky Pizza’s specialty pizza, three cheese pizza, for an adventurous cheese-lover. It is a personal favorite of mine because of the unique and sensational addition of ricotta cheese to the standard deliciousness of mozzarella and grated cheese. I would rate Husky Pizza’s three cheese pizza a twelve out of ten.

For someone who is partial to meat, I would advise tasting Husky Pizza’s specialty pizza, meat lover’s pizza. The meat lover’s pizza comes with the toppings of hamburger pieces, bacon, pepperoni, sausage, and ham with red sauce and mozzarella cheese. The five different types of meat are salty but delicious, and I would caution people from trying the meat lover’s pizza if they have a health-related issue (high blood pressure) involving salt or meat. However, when I ordered the meat lover’s pizza, I would ask for the hamburger pieces, bacon, and ham, which had a yummy meaty taste. I thought that the meat was good quality, and opening the meat lover’s pizza box brought me joy, especially during COVID when restaurants re-opened. The mozzarella cheese was cooked to a perfect golden-brown color. If the five types of meat seem overwhelming to you or you wish to have more meat, simply call ahead and ask the friendly employee to customize your order, with an additional charge for each extra topping, to satisfy your hunger. I would rate meat lover’s pizza a nine out of ten.

If you prefer a chicken pizza, I suggest ordering the Specialty pizzas, the chicken ranch pizza, or the Kyle’s specialty pizza. The chicken ranch pizza is prepared with savory ranch dressing as a sauce with chicken pieces, bacon, onions, tomatoes, garlic, and mozzarella cheese. You might want to hold off on the tomato pieces if you are not a tomato lover. I would rate the chicken ranch pizza an eight out of ten. The Kyle’s specialty pizza is also a ranch-based pizza and comes with green peppers, shredded cheddar cheese, bacon, onions, and crispy chicken, along with red sauce. Personally, I found that the chicken pieces did not taste as exceptional as the meat from the meat lover’s pizza. I would rate Kyle’s specialty pizza a seven out of ten.

If you would prefer a veggie pizza, I would suggest trying a green peppers and onions pizza, which comes with the standard red sauce and mozzarella cheese. However, the dough might be thicker, and you might taste more red sauce than mozzarella cheese. I would rate the green peppers and onions pizza a seven out of ten. I did like the green peppers and onion pizza, but I enjoyed the three cheese pizza better.

Husky Pizza’s other menu items are good, and you might like to try their chicken tenders, which comes with a side of French fries, but I would stay away from their pasta. I would rate the chicken tenders an eight out of ten. The chicken and broccoli alfredo was okay, but the sauce was mediocre, which is why I rate the meal a six out of ten. The sauce was creamy but lacked cheese flavor. The meal comes with a good amount of chicken pieces and medium to large-sized broccoli pieces. The chicken tasted grilled and was seasoned. I prefer the crispy chicken batter of the chicken tenders as opposed to the seasoned grilled chicken of the chicken and broccoli alfredo dinner, but if you enjoy grilled chicken, then you may consider ordering the meal.

If you love pizza, whether it be a classic cheese, meat, or veggie pizza, Husky Pizza is perfect for you. With great-tasting pizza and being near Western New England University, Husky Pizza might be a well- worth-it try. Again, I rate Husky Pizza a nine out of ten.
