On January 23rd, Western New England men’s basketball junior Jake Harrison reached a

major scoring milestone during a 79-57 win over Roger Williams. Harrison became the 27th

member of Western New England’s 1,000 career points club with a thirteen-point performance

over the Hawks in front of the home crowd. The 6-foot-5 forward from South Boston,

Massachusetts entered the game with 996 career points in 72 games played for the Golden Bears.

Harrison becomes the first member to join the 1,000-point club since Zach Tavitian in 2021.

After Harrison failed to eclipse 1000 points in high school, he made it a goal to reach that

number at the college level. “Growing up I didn’t get good at basketball until 10th grade, people

always underestimated me. That was a big goal [of mine], no one can take that away from me

now. I’ll always have that.”

Harrison will take this moment in and appreciate it, but he has his eyes on bigger aspirations. “My goal is to win a championship. We have such a deep roster this

year, it’s time to come together as a team and win a championship.”
