Sundays game will be one for the ages. There are certainly several headlines going into the game, but no headline is bigger than Mahomes vs Brady, this time for the Lombardi Trophy. This game has major implications on both careers. Mahomes winning would put him in a top quarterback, but certainly not close to TB12. Mahomes could lead KC to back to back championships, the first time since 2003-2004, with the Brady led Patriots.
Now if Tom was to win, he would even more cement himself as the greatest quarterback and NFL player to ever play, winning more Super Bowls than any other franchise, Yes that is correct. Brady would have seven, more than any team. That stat in and of itself is awesome. A win for Tom would also be the worst for Patriots fans, especially Bill Belichick.
Letting Brady walk out the door to just go win another title, it would be crazy. Now if we look at the others parts of the game, it becomes very interesting. Two high power
offenses with the ability to score in seconds rather than minutes, it is sure to be an interesting matchup.
From the Chiefs offense vs Bucs defense, the Bucs have to be able to cover both
Tyreke Hill and Travis Kelce. If one player is left open, which I think they will be on more than one occasion, then the Bucs defense is in trouble. Against the Packers, the Bucs defense did a tremendous job at getting to Aaron Rodgers, so now they are up Mahomes, they have to be able to do it to win.
Now from the other side, it is almost the same story. Can the Chiefs defense stop all of the Bucs receivers? No, but they need to be able contain big plays from Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Expect a big day from Scottie Miller. The Chiefs need to control the two main receivers which will leave Brady the option of going to Miller. The Bucs running game has been protecting Brady well and giving him time to throw.
If they are able to continue that success, then Brady who has played in ten Super Bowls, will know exactly what to do. The running game will need to be crucial for the Bucs offense to have success because then Brady can play action off of that and
set up his receivers.
As Patriots fans and football fans all around the world, they are use to Brady throwing the ball 40-50 times in these games, and this could be no different. My prediction in this game is that it will remain close all the way, with a lot of points to be had
and a couple of turnovers along the way. Even though the Bucs are playing at home, in the times we are in, it may not play that much of a factor, the players will definitely be ready to play, from both sides.
I believe Brady will have to keep up with Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, but
I do think the Chiefs offense may stall in a couple drive allowing the Bucs to score points and possibly get ahead of the Chiefs. The offensive lines form both sides are my X factors.
They need to protect their QBs and give them plenty of time to throw the ball, because the more pressure that comes, the more turnovers will happen. With that being said, Tom Brady will edge out the Chiefs and win another championship for himself, and win one for the Buccaneers and their fans.
Final Score
Bucs – 44
Chiefs – 36
