Looking for something to do on March 14th at 6 pm? Join the Creative Writing Program and the English and Cultural Studies Department in welcoming Rachel B. Glaser to the New Writers Reading Series.

Rachel B. Glaser is a writer and poet from New Jersey who obtained her undergraduate degree in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and later graduated from the UMass Amherst Poets and Writers Program in Fiction.

Glaser has multiple published works, including Pee on Water, Moods, Hairdo, and Paulina and Fran. Glaser’s short story “Dead Woman” appeared in the Summer 2023 issue of the Paris Review, and later that year, her short story “Ira & the Whale” was awarded an O. Henry Prize. Glaser was named one of the best young American novelists by Granta magazine in 2017.

Although this event targets students whose majors and interests are aligned with writing, all students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Similar to last semester’s New Writers Reading Series with writer Jung Yun, this year’s event will have Glaser read from some of her work, followed by a brief Q&A from those in the audience.

This event is a great opportunity to meet fellow readers and writers at Western New England University and enjoy a pleasant evening listening to a professional writer read aloud from their work. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Department of English and Cultural Studies or the Creative Writing Program.
